Weight loss and KC HERE WE COME....

I did my weigh in yesterday morning first thing,
naked, 
and after I went pee.

I was down 3 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I am at 166.4.

This is a great motivator and so is everyone over at Mama Laughlin's Fit Camp and all the blogs that I read. I read www.mamalauglin.com daily and absolutely love it.  She is hilarious and such an inspiration to me. She is someone that reminds me of where I am and if she can do I can do it. 

I have made my list of of my October goals!


I have been doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred Level 1 for 10 days and that is not skipping a day.  I am so proud of myself.  I am going to start Level 2 on Monday when I start the 31 days of Jillian!! I just can't wait.  

I will taking tomorrow off from her since we are leaving town for the weekend.  We are participating in the Raise Awareness for Celiac 5K in Kansas City. I will be walking as we are taking our two boys with us.  But at least I will still get in some cardio.  We have a wedding to go that night and then home Sunday.  As much as I like getting away, it is always nice to get back home.  But it should be a nice little vaca for the weekend. My oldest is so excited to go swimming.

We are wanting to eat some good KC BBQ while we are there. Anyone know of any great places to try??

Kidsssss.............

I love my boys with all my heart. But there are still days where I want to pull my hair out and that has been my night.  They are both in bed sleeping now.  But geez.....

One set in time out for 10 minutes. The other one was cranky and clinging to me all night.  Don't get me wrong I love to cuddle but when you have supper to make and things to get ready for the next day, that is hard to do with on on your hip. 

Jacer, who is 5, is hard headed and he never listens the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time you tell him something, I have to tell him about 10 times to do something.  UGGGHH.

Anyone got any ideas for me?? Let me know your tricks on this.

Well I am going to go run it out on the treadmill.....

I must get up to go do this..

I will run tonight....

OOOOHHHHH.......

So sleepy.. But I can't give it up and go to bed yet.  The Voice was on earlier and I am dire need to watch it or so I think.  Then Sons of Anarchy is recording on my DVR as I type. (What we did before DVR, I have no idea) 

So I am sleepy! My 1 year old Monkey slept all night for once in I don't know how long so no sleeping on the couch for me last night, but......
then there was a storm...
and my 5 year old is scare of storms...
which do not go together when it is time to sleep...
so guess who climbed in our bed around 4 a.m.
Yep the 5 year old Jacer. My husband and my boys are all like saunas when they sleep and I couldn't take it very long, so I went to Jacer's bed and slept.  Got up at 5:45 am, dealt with Jillian MIchaels 30 day shred.  Have ate healthy all day.  Did 30 minute upper body class at the gym and then stuck around town and did 15 minutes of running on the treadmill and then the first night of Kickboxing at the Gym.  Which is good, just not a great time of the night for me and my family and our routines.

Well I am about ready to crash!

Oh the joys....

Well......

I had quite the weekend.  Most of it traveling it seemed like. We went to a beautiful wedding at the St. Louis Cardinals Stadium.  The couple got married on home plate.  It was super cool and my 5 year old was in awe.  I told him he better enjoy it cause we will never be in those seats again. LOL! The food was excellent and did good until the cupcakes. I don't know where they came from but my oh my they were delicious! I had two.  So that was my low point of the weekend on not being able to say no to the second one or the first one.

I have been doing great with Jillian Michaels. Monkey had me up all night so I pushed snoozed on the rooster alarm this am.  So as soon as I get home that is what I am going to do.  Here I come Jillian... I did work out the Fitness Center at noon. We have started our classes back up again.  Today was lower body and man did I feel not have these classes for two weeks! 

So far today I have done pretty good with eating.  My cousin had these peanut butter ball things called energy bites. They are delicious. They have been my worse thing today but they are still pretty healthy. Should of only brought 2 for the day not a whole zip lock bag. It was so funny today, I had read somewhere about having a texting buddy regarding eating and just someone to have to help motivate and encourage each other with and I thought of my sister-in-law, one of my best friends, Krista and would you know it she called me about 5 minutes later.  We married brothers, both hate our weight and have so much more in common (WE MARRIED HOLMAN BROTHERS) ! So we are now texting buddies! So here it goes! We can do it Sis!!!!!

Grabbing back fat....

Ok, so as I was sitting on my chair today and yes yesterday going to the restroom... Monkey aka James comes to me and grabs my (can you guess it)! My fat roll!  That made me think even more that I need to get this eating under control.


I am down to 4 points left for today and going to a high school football game for my cousins.  So I guess that means a salad for me before we go and no snacks whiles we are there.  I am ok with that.  I can handle my food when I am in public, it is in the comfort of my own home.  For instance I ate lunch today at my grandma's (best cook). So that is my big meal for the day.  But then I come home and Monkey wants a snack, so I pop some popcorn. Yes it is the fat free kind but the point is I wasn't hungry, so WHY DID I THINK I NEEDED IT!?!?!?!? 


It makes me frustrated.  I should of got on some blogs first and read more of their stories! That motivates me!!!

I CAN DO THIS!!

I keep telling myself that.  It is so hard.  You see people and are why do I have to work so hard and no one else does.  But then I have to remember maybe they are working hard to stay where they are!

Feel for this family.....

Mama Laughlin: When Skies Are Gray: Today I'm going to share a story with you all. A story that has touched my heart very deeply. A story that I know will touch yours, too....

Shred time...

YAWNNNNNN. Good morning!! My youngest woke up 2:30 again this morning and I have started the going to the couch and laying down to go back to sleep. I finally woke up on the couch and put him back in his bed at 4:00 a.m. I had my alarm set for 5:50 a.m. I kept waking up thinking I missed the alarm. I don't know how I could since it is set on a rooster crowing to wake you up.  But anyway I got up when it went off and got into my workout clothes and went and did the 30 day shred with Jillian Michaels.  I put in my headphones and went to work.  Of course, 5 minutes in, I hear something and can you guess it, my youngest is wide awake and 6 a.m. So I go and get him and enjoyed working out with me this morning.  I feel refreshed now that I have done. Day 1 done, now let's go for day 2!! 

Now I am sitting at work with my heater on since I am freezing. I stopped at Casey's and got a fat free vanilla cappuccino (after I figured the points on the one french vanilla one yesterday I about screamed). But one drink of that and down the drain it went! Yuck!!!!! So I guess water it is all day!!! 

Now to get motivated to get some work accomplished. 

On the menu today:

2 pieces of Sara Lee 100% multi-grain bread
Butter Spray
apples
Veggie Soup
Pasta Shells
Corn

I do great during the day but once I get home is the hard part. I just need to cook better for the husband and make them eat what I eat once I make it healthier! 

I just get frustrated at home when I eat.  Let me tell you the Carrot Cake won again last night! 

But I am not going to let it get me down today. It is a new day and I am ready to come in kickin' and fightin'!

Here I go again....

Hey!! I am Karie Holman, 27, am happily married to my hubby for 8 years and we have two handsome blue eyed boys, Jace (5) and James (1).  They are the twinkle in my eyes!!! Love them! I absolutely love being a wife and momma! But in the self confidence section, I hate the way I look.  I lean over standing up and have a hanging stomach and it makes me cringe.  I was smallest a couple of years ago, (hubby and I went through a tough time) I got to 142 lbs.  But I didn't get there the right way and when we got back together gained it back, got pregnant and gained even more.  After I had James, I started weight watchers and lost 10 lbs. I was at 172lbs. I quit weight watchers for a while and now have decided to start back because I am stuck at 169 lbs.  It is going to be hard but I am hoping with support I will get to my goal of 140 lbs.  But for this time being I am shooting for 163 lbs.  I would like to lose the weight by January 2013 but I am going to take day by day.

I have started a blog once before and now I have started another one.  I forgot the name of it and my password for it.  So here I am starting over....

So the name goes perfectly with me. I love carrot cake and the homemade cream cheese frosting.  My husband and I just celebrated our 8th anniversary yesterday and that is what he wanted a carrot cake.  I made him one.  Why wouldn't I, very cheap gift if you ask me. Of course though I ate a piece of this delicious cake last night as we were sitting there watching our favorite tv show Sons of Anarchy childless for the night.  I told him I better savor every bite since I have begun Weight Watchers again and one piece is like 17 points.  So that would be my one and only piece. 



As I ate this one piece of carrot cake and yes I enjoyed it so much. I realized that this is my problem with eating I get a bigger piece than I should.  

You see I have been going to our new fitness center since it opened, yes I am getting stronger but the scale still says the same. I have been so frustrated.  My Jeans I have been in since I had baby #2 August of 2011 are the same ones I am still in.  They are loose but the next size down is too tight! I need to really focus on what I am putting in my mouth and that it is sticking to my thighs, buttocks and stomach.  

I have found an awesome blog called http://www.mamalaughlin.com today and it inspired me.  She is about my age and after child 2 was at weight she did not like.  She has lost over 60 lbs and looks fabulous. So today when I went to the gym at noon I started the couch to 5k on the treadmill. I did 1.92 miles in 30 minutes.  I am going to work myself up to running all the time just got to make time for myself to do it. 

I am determined and ready to get this weight off! I will post pics later for this process!
